FAQ

  • Open to artists aged 18 and older who identify as part of the Latinx community or its diaspora. Artists working in any medium; visual, written, or interdisciplinary—are encouraged to apply. Both emerging and established artists are welcome.

  • Siembra explores the social inequalities and cultural oppression faced by Latinx communities living in the United States. The exhibition examines how the histories of colonization, labor exploitation, migration, and identity continue to shape belonging and representation today. It invites artists to share work that reflects resistance, memory, and reimagined identity through creative expression.

  • The $25 fee helps offset administrative costs. Eyes On Art will cover all additional expenses, including installation, marketing, and post-event activities. Artists do not need to worry about these costs.

  • Submissions can be made online through the application link.

  • This is a juried exhibition. A curatorial committee will review all submissions based on originality, relevance to the theme, and overall artistic merit. Selected artists will be announced on November 3rd.

  • Selected artists will:

    • Receive an email notification by November 3rd

    • Deliver their artworks between November 3–12

    • Be featured in the exhibition Siembras, opening November 19 at Black Brick Project

    • Have their work included in the exhibition and featured on Artsy, offering international exposure.

  • No. Beyond the $25 processing fee, there are no additional costs for artists. Eyes On Art will handle all expenses related to installation, marketing, and post-event activities.

  • Yes, artists are responsible for delivering and picking up their work. If you are unable to deliver in person, you may ship your work at your own expense.

    • Artwork drop-off: November 3–12

    • Artwork pickup: December 20 – January 6

  • Artists may submit up to 4 pieces for consideration.

  • Yes, previously exhibited works are eligible.

  • Yes, selected works may be available for sale during the exhibition. Commission rates and sale details will be shared upon selection.

  • Eyes On Art will handle all marketing and outreach, including press releases, digital campaigns, and social media promotion across multiple platforms.

  • Due to the number of submissions, individual feedback cannot be guaranteed. However, all applicants will receive notification about their submission status and are encouraged to stay in touch for future calls and exhibitions.
